[comp.sys.cbm] More Responsive 128 keyboard

wbks@tygra.UUCP (Sean Burke) (03/16/90)

Lots of people have complained about the original Commodore 128's keyboard
being vague and unresponsive. I personally thought it had kind of a weak
response. I found a quick (and CHEAP) way to fix this. If you have an
old 64 lying around, pop the keys off of the keyboard and save the springs.
Go to your 128 and start removing keys 1 by 1. Replace the small, weak 128
springs with the bigger, stronger64 springs. You only have enough springs
for the main keyboard and 4 other keys, unless you have another 64, but it's
real nice on the main board, and it only took me about 30 minutes to do.
