If you have any comments about the program, send e-mail to: ditzen@ei.ecn.purdue.edu Submitted by David Ditzenberger <ditzen@ei.ecn.purdue.edu> arcaid7p1.sda (archivers volume) ============= This is a menu driven version of ARCaives. Since it is menu drive using this program to dissolve and create ".arc" files are easier. This package also contains a program to convert ".arc" files to self-dissolving ".sda" files. Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> blazinforth.arc (misc volume) =============== This is a Forth compiler for the C64. Once you download this file to the C64, you now need to deARC it using ARC2.30 or higher (also available somewhere from in this Mail Server). deARCing "blazinforth.arc" is not that simple unless you have two drives. There will not be enough space in disk to store all the dissolved/extracted files (plus the original ARCed file). Consequently you need to extract from it file at a time, and then transfer that file to another disk to make room for the next file. I got to warn you this is somewhat of a lengthy process so be patient....but then you only have to do it once. Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> digiplayer3.sda (misc volume) =============== This program can play back many of those digitized sound tracks files from Amiga, ST, Mac, and commodore's ".raw" files. The program allows you to select the speed of the playback, so you can have lots of fun distorting those voices. A friend of my told me that he was going to use some of the sound tracks in his answering machine message...I thought that was an interesting idea. Look for more ".raw" files to come in the near future. As always this file has been uuencoded. Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> ibmdearc.sda (archivers volume) ============ This a niffty program that can deARC IBM ARCed files. At first you might wonder at the usefulness of the program. Well, if you access an IBM board there could be text ARCed file that you might want to read. In such case this program would really help. This program is NOT for deARCing C64 ARCed file, for that you need to use ARCx.xx for the C64.....enjoy. Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> quiet.formatter (misc volume) =============== During disk formatting do you sometimes feel that your 1541 is a major source of the growing problem of noise pollution? Well, if that is the case, this niffy short program is what you were looking for. This program formats a disk without making any of that raddling sound common to normal formatting, which some people believe is one of the cause of disk alignment problem. Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> unscratch.prg (misc volume) ============= This program allows you to unscratch accidently deleted files. This is a very short program written in BASIC but useful. Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> [ED - This program often comes with the 1541/1571 test demo] voter.sda (misc volume) ========= This is an interesting simulation program written for the CBM user group in our univerisity as demonstration to its members? The interesting thing about this program is what it is demonstrating. According to the simulation of the program, the multi-party political system that is the homemark of democracy is doom to failute, and soon to be dominated by a single party monopoly..... Are we doom? :.( Well... get this program and see it for yourself. It is free :-) Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> [ED - Those political thoughs are only of Scott, I guess, this File Server doesn't endorse any political party, (yet?) ] kermit/ker-exec.sda (telecom volume) kermit/ker-docs.sda kermit/c64ker.m65 ====== This is complete full version of Kermit v2.2 will all the necessary files, documentation and sources. Packed by Scott K. Stephen. ker-exe.sda contains all the files necessary to run kermit, and the ker-docs.sda contains the documentation. Just load and run those programs and they will do all the job themselves. Becareful when requesting the source code, since the file is HUGE! To quote Scott: "By the way, for those who don't know, Kermit v2.2 is terminal program with full vt-52, vt-100, and partially vt-102 emulation with 40/80 columns modes for the C64 and C128. For more details read the documentation." stereoplayer10p3.sda (sids volume) ==================== After downloading this program to the C64, load and run it. When you do that, this program will self-dissolve into its original number of files (that is why the ".sda" suffix). Therefore, make sure that there is plenty of space in the disk. If not, after loading the file place another disk that has plenty of space before running it. After the self-dissolving is complete, reset the computer by turning it off and on. Then type the following: LOAD "STEREOPLAYER 10.3",8,1 About the program: Stereoplayer is a program that plays those sid ".mus" music files. What is more this player also support the expanded 6 voice musical files. To achive 6 voice, you need, beside this program, an extra SID chip to be added to the C64. This can be done directly by yourself or you can buy a cartrige that simple plugs directly into the C64 expansion port. Submitted by Scott K. Stephen <Scott@uwav1.acs.washington.edu> reformer/README (misc volume) reformer/reformer reformer/rfrmr.c ======== By Robert Dickow. Reformer is a simple utility to translate C64 text files between common word processor file formats. Supported types include EasyScript sequential, SpeedScript program files, and standard ASCII formats. The program is self-documenting as to operation. Submitted by Robert Dickow <rdickow@groucho.mrc.uidaho.edu> ______________________________________________________________________ Administrivia: This is about half of the stuff that was in the incoming directory.
