[net.music] Steve Morse, not Steve Morris

...was the guitarist for the Dregs (formerly the Dixie Dregs). He's
gone solo, and his appearance with de Lucia, McLaughlin and DiMeola
was not a last minute thing -- he's touring with them.
For phenomenally precise ensemble playing (even if you don't really
like the music), I'd suggest checking out the Dixie Dregs' first
album "What If", appearing in fine delete bins everywhere.

This may have already been posted somewhere else in the country, but
here goes... *What If* is actually the Dixie Dregs second album. Their
first is called *Freefall*. Also worth a listen are their others:
*Night of the Living Dregs*, *Dregs of the Earth*, *Unsung Heroes*,
and *Industry Standard* (have I omitted any?). All of these are becoming
hard to get (I heard that the Dregs broke up, can anybody back this up or
refute it?) but each one is full of variety. To my mind, Steve Morse is
one of the most well-rounded guitarists alive today--and I'm looking forward
to seeing him and DiMeola/de Lucia/McLaughlin Nov. 2 in Seattle.
