Ok, In an effort to better explain how to use the Mail Archive Server (@disk) I will supply a sample request and some info on what everything does. Your letter should look something like the sample one following (with the exception of different information and different commands) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To: specter@disk.UUCP Subject: Mail-Archive-Request path uunet!corpane!sparks maxsize 90000 news news march help contents contents music send music stsid11.sda send sids rush2112.mus index sids end Comments and Text may go here and I will be able to read it (only if it is after the "end" command). In the future I'll make a a method to send a message within the request that will be written to a file. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you can see the path was set to uunet!corpane!sparks (This is a just a sample users return path- please don't send mail to john haha.) This would cause the server to send all the files and other requests to <uunet!corpane!sparks>. The maxsize is set to 90 000 bytes in this request. I don't advise changing that since out gateway cannot handle more than 100 000 bytes. John then requests the current news, the news for march, the help file, the contents of the root dir (listing all the volume names and sending them in mail) the contents of the volume music, the file stsid11.sda (which will be uuencoded split and sent through mail), the file rush2112.mus from the volume sids, and finally do a index (comparable to a ls) of the volume sids. I hope this helps- I've gotten some really confusing requests :) Look over the example if your not sure.
