[comp.sys.cbm] Macros on terms

wlj1@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu (Wayne L Jebian) (07/17/90)

Ok, I appreciate the help I've recieved thus far about Desterm 1.02 and
the Color 80 cols cable. Now I have 2 other questions about terms:

1- Will desterm 2.0 allow for macros where a cursor return can be used? is
there a term program <with ANSI preferable> that will allow me to
do the following?:

<I hit the macro key and the following appears>

shie <return>
pha 0 3 <return>
clo <return>
mis a 5000 <return>
shi <return>
clo <return>

the reason is because of a game I saw on a galacticomm where the only way
to win is if you have macros that can do the above. the macros on the current
verson of desterm does not allow me to send a return, unless it does and I dont
know how to do so.

2- a friend of mine tells me that the full functioning dialogue 128 has
"post script files" or something like that. what it essentially is, is a way
to "porgram" your term into performing various commands so that you can logon
a BBS and perform varios tasks, all via macros. will desterm 2.0 have this?
if not, does anyone know for sure if dialogue 128 has these features and
how it is accessable/usable?

thanks in advance

etc.

Yes, but you have to run with CP/M: QTERM has two ways of doing this.
there are 10 soft function keys that can be programmed to send strings,
or you can create a keyboard map function that intercepts keystrokes,
and expands them to other strings.

If you want more detail, drop me a line.
