[comp.sys.cbm] Abacus

lcs@remus.rutgers.edu (Lyle C. Seplowitz) (10/23/90)

A few weeks back, I posted a message about Super C for the 128 and
specifically my disappointment with the compiler (please stress the word
specifically).

Prior to that posting I sent a letter to the President of Abacus
expressing my dissatisfaction with Super C 128 and requesting
information on memory and file management. Recently I received a
response to that letter from the marketing director. He generously
offered to refund my purchase despite the fact that I owned it for a
year.

Since I haven't used the compiler in months and I still had the
original receipt, I decided to take him up on his offer. Instead of a
refund I requested two books (C128 Internals and Compiler Design and
Compiler Design and Implementation).

Just yesterday (only a week after I returned Super C 128) I received
the two books. Although I haven't had much time completely look
through them, they do seem like excellent books (the compilers book
could be better--this is only an opinion).

While I still applaud Abacus's Customer Service and Support, I only
wish in the future they can take the time to keep their programs up to
date.
