I've been doing something like that on MY C64........ SIDs. Now, before you go into a blank stare, let me explain what I mean by a SID. For those of you reading this who *have* Commodores, *you* know what the SID chip is........ it's the Sound Interface Device used to make the C64 (& C128) into a mini-synthesizer. What *I* usually mean by a "SID" is the MUSIC FILE created by a SID Editor (like the one COMPUTE! Books has out). I am not sure what you mean by "alogrithmic", but if you can *write* it down on paper, you can make a SID out of it. What *I've* been doing (on & off) for a little over a year is create SIDs of some of my favorite hymns & songs ----straight from the sheet music. If there was a place on Usenet where I could post them, I *WOULD*! One can't have everything...... I know that on Qlink there is a *VAST* SID library incorporating not only music, but special effects & sounds as well. On Portal, the network I now subscribe to, also has a SID library, but it's not as extensive as the one on Qlink. (If you want to know more about Portal, just Email me. : ) OK, fellow Commodorians...... or whatever we call ourselves....... I've put my bit in on what I know relating to what this gent wants. Anyone else?
