[comp.sys.cbm] Bargain Alert! Rare equipment, cheap prices...

prindle@nadc.nadc.navy.mil (Frank Prindle) (11/17/90)

Folks,

For those of you who have been looking for a 1750 or 1581, and want to save
big bucks too, check out the following place (from ad in RUN magazine):

The Software Hut
2534 S. Broad Street
Philadelphia, Pa.
215-462-2268
800-848-0079 phone orders only

1750 - new - $110 + $5 shipping
1581 - new - $130 + $5 shipping
1702 - refurbished - $90 + $8 shipping

PA residents are stuck with 6% sales tax.

Now you know where all those non-existent 1750s and 1581s went. CBM seems to
have unloaded them on the Hut really cheap. The 1750s sound like the buy of
the century since I paid $200 for mine and never saw them any cheaper. There
is a bunch of other stuff in the ad also, but nothing quite the bargain of those
above.
Sincerely,
Frank Prindle

I actually called these people about a week ago and they had no 1581s, either
new or referbished. I didn't ask about 1750s, but I wouldn't be surprised were
it the same way. Now, of course it is always possible more refurbished ones
will become available, so it might be worth continuing to check.
