We are currently considering offering MACSYMA as a service to our research
staff and students. Unfortunately we have been unable to find anyone in the
U.K. who is running this package and can give us some information in the
light of experience. We would be forever grateful if anyone who has used
MACSYMA could mail us with information on what they have found to be its
good/bad points.
We are especially interested in running MACSYMA on our VAX 11/750 4.2BSD
system but would like to hear about other implementations as well.
Specific points of interest to us include : how does overall system performance
suffer as a result of running MACSYMA, are there any "hidden" limitations
in the package, does it prove useful from a practical viewpoint.
