[comp.sys.cbm] The Commodore

lncjb@cc.nu.oz.au (12/17/90)

Here in Australia, Commodore distributed a sampler as part of a "SFX" music
package. The device plugged into the expansion port, has two
potentometers (labeled "Feedback" & "Volume"), and has an opening on
the top where a MIDI adaptor could be inserted.

IMHO, the accompaning software is rather useless for my intentions, cannot
change the sampling rate, for instance. I intend writing a replacment
	controller.

A friend of mine actual owns the sampler (bought for A$20 from 'Computer
Spot'), and over the weekend I had a look at it and determined that
writing to the IO1 ($DE00-FF), you could get something related to
the sampled waveform by then reading IO2 ($DF00-FF). I said 'related'
because even after fiddling with the sampling, the quality is not as
	good has it could be.

Anyone aware of how this sampler works, and knows how to properly record with
	this device?
