My C-128 has recently developed an annoying habit. It seems that if I run a program for a while and then reset the computer, my 128 refuses to re-boot. I've also tried turning the power off and then on again and it will still stay in this locked-up mode. At first, I thought the problem might be heat-related, but the same problem occurs even after the machine has cooled off. Eventually, after shutting off the computer for an extended period of time, it will run fineagain. Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem? Do I have a defective boot rom? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Pat nanto@hpsmpa

HJhook up a serial disk drive to your 128, press the reset and notice if the LED on your disk drive comes on, then back off. If it sticks in the on position, then you may habe a bad reset circuit, 556 chip and assoicated parts. Dont rule out the small capacators in that area, they have caused me problems once before! Really tuff to hunt down! Also, check the power supply! I know, evveryone says that, but it can be the source of a lot of trouble! ctfm
