[comp.sys.cbm] CMD RamDrive

roger@garfield.cs.mun.ca (Roger White) (01/24/91)

Any info floating around about the new CMD REUs? I have seen the advertisements
but need more information. Is the RamDrive (or RamLink) fully compatible with
software available for the Commodore REUs? It claims 20 times faster than
Commodore RAMDOS and full DOS compatibility, do they use a custom chip to
provide these features or is it software?

It has a separate power supply and battery backup so it don't drain power from
your computer and doesn't lose memory when power is lost, plus its available
up to 2 Megs (RamLink to 16 Megs). It also claims GEOS compatibility.

The prices and battery backup features are tempting, but without full
Commodore REU compatibility I wouldn't want it. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
R.White
