Can anybody give some opinions about the CMD and XETEC brands of hard drives. I am thinking about possibly purchasing one in the future and I would like some more info concering capatability, ease of use, etc. Plus, it would be greatly apprecited if someone could supply me with an address where I could write for more info about the XETEC drives. Off hand, I don't even know where one can be purchased. Thanx!! Matt Adair aka - Phantom -- mladair@mtus5.cts.mtu.edu abcd!Matt_Adair@balance.cs.mtu.edu mladair@mtus5.bitnet

I have used both, and each one has its advantages and dissadvantages, but my choice is the Lt Kernal. But that is partly because I use my hard disk for only one thing, and thats running my BBS. Contact the publisher of your software, and make sure its Lt Kernal Compatable. If it is, and you only plan to run that one main program, then your all set, and you will love your Kernal! The CMD is MUCH more compatable with software then the kernal, but its also much slower. The dos is not as easy to use as the kernal dos either. But ifyour planning on running lots of kinds of software this one is proabaly best for you. ctfm
