[comp.sys.cbm] Assembling TECO6502 -- Help!

c8923075@cc.newcastle.edu.au (03/11/91)

I'm having a go at converting the TECO6502 source (I obtained via ftp from
apple.com) to the standard 64, so I'll have a decent editor for a
UNIX-ish OS I'm writing (a DIY project, not really serious).

I be needing hints/ideas on how to get about assembling a file that's over
70k long. I only have a C64+1541 avalible, so using a IBMclone and
the 6510 assembler from milton is out.

If I chop the source into parts, maybe I could try cross-referencing; if I
knew how it worked,,. I've got a PD copy of the 'Commodore Macro
Assembler' (at least I hope it's PD) which has this facility. Possible?

The current assembler I've been using (Riemhild's Turboassembler) tokenises
it's source when stored inside the machine, but after the 4000th
line (and still over 12k of memory left) barfs, and tells me I can't
have any more labels. Any other asm's capible of accepting the
	remaining ~500 lines?

Or is there a file editor for the 64 that can handle large files such as this?

Don't suppose anyone's already assembled TECO?

Anyway,,,
