Philip Slaymaker did very deep research into this mysterious bug. He published his findings in the Transactor. He first wrote a program to show how this bug works, and believe me, it was amazing.. sometimes the entire directory was completely wasted.. in a later article, he gave the disk replacement code to eliminate this bug, forever..
