This article was to have been about an 80 column interlacing demo written
over the weekend to discuss interlacing's usefulness, but when I
was about to transfer the file over, I turned on my 6.5 year old
1541 and it started flashing at me (0.667 Hz). Is this some
diagnostic message?,,, if so, that does it mean?
To the people who where anxiously awaiting for the TECO conversion,
I was about third of the way through when this happened. Looks like
I'll need to buy a new drive. Anyone in Newcastle got an 1541 for
sale?
((( about the interlacing,,, there's an improvement in the quality of the
80 column characters --- unfortunately you have to handle a 16K
hires screen --- also, interlacing doesn't 'double' the resolution
of the 64, it's a type of anti-aliasing, dispite what the
'reticulate' demo says, and is an old technique )))
