Yes, you do see ads for them, but try to find a company that has one in stock. I paid $269 for it three years ago,

I bought a 1581 from Toys `r' Us. Drive mechanism was busted. So I returned it for another one which was also busted. The way the stock room was handling them (I could see through a window when I got the second one) its no wonder. They didn't seem to realize a disk drive is more delicate than a basketball. So, I drove 45 minutes out of my way to the only Commodore dealer left in the state of Arizona who sells C-64 stuff and got a working 1581. I love it. Moral: don't trust a toy store with a real toy. --Ron.
