[net.wanted] ACIA for Z80 systems with built in baud rate generator.

cem@intelca.UUCP (Chuck McManis) (06/22/84)

The Z80 family Serial Communications Chip or SCC or Z8530 or Intel 82530,
has 2 baud rate generators and two independent channels on chip. They
are easy to set up and don't need "phase 2". As far as I know there is
not a phase 2 on Z80's except on maybe old S100 systems.

Does anyone know of an ACIA type device available to suit Z80
systems without too much bodging . It seems that the SY6851 or equivalent
will not talk to a Z80 due to the lack of Phase 2! .
Any help would be apprieciated. Also manufacturer etc.
