[comp.sys.cbm] RS232 interface correction

warren@col.hp.com (Warren Tustin) (05/08/91)

I posted plans for an RS-232 interface using one chip (an LT1133 - which I
found out is hard to get because it is new [there is also a MAXIM part that
has the same functionality, but I don't know the number]) and a few capacitors
a while ago, and it was pointed out that there was a mistake in it.
The error was in the description of inputs to outputs on the LT1133,
The rest of the document is OK, but if you follow the chip description that
I posted, you would have flipped two drivers.

Here is the correct description:

Driver In pins (15,19,21) TTL/CMOS compatible. Unused inputs
                  |  |  |   should be tied to +5v.
Driver Out pins (11, 7, 5) RS232 compatible. Short circuit
                            protected from -30v to +30v.

Hope I didn't mess anyone up :^).
