[comp.sys.cbm] Kermit V2.2 for the C=128

piskacrj@mentor.cc.purdue.edu (Robert J Piskac) (05/12/91)

Sorry to post it here but I don't have Kent's E-mail address.

Hey Kent I just finished getting Kermit V2.2 working on the
C=128. I just made a few changes to the code to get it to
work. Tell Ray to get back into hacking on kermit. I need
some advise on what should be done to improve this thing.

Actually there's a fellow down in California who has been working on the same
thing. He has added some features, but I don't remember what. You two should
get in contact with each other. I'll try to dig up his name and address and
email it to you.

I posted this reply instead of using email to let people know that Ray isn't
doing much of anything Kermit-wise these days--no time. He might get back to
it one of these days, but he's not promising anything. He is still committed
to a SwiftLink-232 version of 2.2, but that is not finished yet.

Robert, you can contact Ray at:

By the way, Nick Rossi's new Novaterm v9.2 has really good VT-52/100/102
terminal emulation and a basic Kermit protocol module, so it's now a very
reasonable alternative for micro <--> mainframe communications.
