You can remove the system disk from RT-11 only if you are absolutely sure that your program can't generate errors. I haven't tried this in a long time, but I would guess that you could get away with this if you made sure that your data disk had a dummy swap.sys at the exact same blocks that the sys disk had. Have you thought of putting a minimal system on the data disk? Just rt11sj.sys, tt.sys, dy.sys and swap.sys? There is no "call" to swap a disk. You open the door, remove the old disk , and put in the new one. Doug McDonald
