Now you can find out! Pat O'Malley of Digital's Educational Services will be the speaker on VMS Crash Dump Analysis. Pat can be best characterized as the Jay Leno of VMS so his talk promises to be entertaining as well as informative. Unfortunately, because of limited time, Pat will not be able to look at any crash dumps that members bring with them. LUG experts in the fields of VMS Systems Management, Cluster Management, & Unix Systems Management will give very brief introductions regarding their areas of expertise and then will field questions from the floor. Bring your hard questions and any information you may have to pass on. It should be a very lively meeting - don't miss it. We plan to close the meeting with a review of the Spring DECUS Symposia held earlier in May. It will be held in the Engineering Computer Lab's student workstation room at URI. This meeting is for anyone who has or has not worked on an Ultrix or a VMS workstation (did I leave anyone out?). A brief introduction to the Desktop VMS user and management environment, DECwindows, networking, Bookreader, and various other window applications will be given by Steffanie Windus. An overview of Ultrix UWS windows, window applications, management and networking will be provided by Karen Wimmer. A look at the connectivity between Ultrix and VMS at this level will be demonstrated, and participants will have the opportunity to login to one of the 20 available VAXstation 3100s, experiment, and ask questions.
