[comp.sys.mac] Toolbox Under unix

hugo@dartvax.UUCP (Peter Su) (01/01/70)

What's keeping Apple from

1) Implementing the toolbox under a window manager like X or NeWs,
since they only provide low level protocols anyway...

2) Using the old virtual memory to map lots of macs all over address
space of the Mac II, say. This is sort of the same idea that switcher
uses, but it would work better because the virtual macs won't be able
to eat up each other's memory.

Personally, I would have to say that Apple is getting a bit out its
league by trying to go up against people like Sun in the Unix
uhiverse...but what do I know?

Just random thoughts,
Pete
