*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE *** Hello out there......I have been running across a neat bug quite freqeuntly these days....and I was wondering itf it was really a bug that other people have experienced or if it is just user error..... The bug/error: When clicking or double-clicking on some documents I suddenly get an endless line of hyphens as the doc name.....Of course I get the alert box telling me I can't have a name longer than 31 chars. Click ok. More hyphens. Eventually I win the war with the backspace and all is well....until...the next time....any comments on this ine? ^one (got my typing sucks) -- I don't know my right from left or my right from wrong Chris North Dartmouth College Hanover NH 03755 CSNET: bono@dartmouth.edu Compuserve: 76446,612

[Line-Eater? What Line-Eater? *Chomp* 8-) ] Organization: Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa. Position: Confused Undergraduate Um, I ran into that bug earlier this summer, when I was using a 512K, old Roms, and a 10mb HyperDrive. I don't know what caused it, but I faintly recall that replacing my System and Finder files helped.... What exactly are you using? (System and Finder version, Macintosh type, upgrades...) Hope this helps out a bit... --Rich Richard M.
