I have had my Mac + since August. My first purchase of disks was Sony 1s/2d for $19. Upon moving up to college, I have been purchasing Kodak 2s/hd disk for $23 (both prices for a box of 10). There are several brands available here, and I have a couple of questions: 1. I have been buying Kodak based on the (twisted, possibly) logic that Kodak may not be the first on the market, but when they bring their version out, it is usually one of the best. Is there a real difference in disk brands, or are they all the same? Are there those that are fairly crash-proof, those that crash a lot, or don't 3.5's crash much? 2. My Mac+ having double sided drives, I have been sinking about $4 per box of 10 for 2s disks. Does it matter? In other words, will the 1s disks perform fine (and I can go to McDonalds with the $4), or should I be safe (and invest the $4 in my homework). Will the 1s disks go boom more often on the double sided drive? In order to save the net a lot of loading (and my neck from being yelled at for causing it), send replies via e-mail and I will summarize if there is enough response to warrant it. ------- ============================================================================== George A.
