Whoa!!!! to Joel West. I am writing this note from an Apollo workstation running DOMAIN/IX, Apollo's version of Berkeley 4.2 UNIX. An Apollo or Sun needs MS-DOS like you need a hole in the head. Why revert to a non-operating-system when you have it so good?? I second the motion on the unlikely occurance of resiliconning any of the 68000 family into behaving like any Intel product. As I understand it the deal by Motorola with IBM to make the System/370 clone was very special and Motorola would probably not undertake such a project without Intel's approval, which is hardly likely. Since this note started with a reference to 68000 workstations, I wonder if Apple's codename "Sunkiller" tells us about their hopes or dreams?!?!? Could they really see the top end MAC in the workstation battle? Sid Kitchel Computer Science Dept. Indiana University
