With the imminent arrival of the new Macs, many people will be ordering a machine that they have never actually seen, or barely been able to even touch. I plan to be one of these. However, this raises a question of historical nature: To you pioneers of previous Macintosh models (128K: the original, 512K: "fat Mac", Mac +, Mac 512Ke), Did any early-model problems you might have encountered get fixed satisfactorally? In other words, were you a) stuck b) given a hack (a quick fix/patch, hardware or software) c) upgraded (i.e. a new piece of software/new logic board..) Is there an official Apple policy on new model problems? When buying cars, I've learned that new models of cars are often best avoided. However, in recent years, some imports have countered this idea. Are computers different, or should I give the Mac SE and the Mac II a bit of time to settle down? I'd hate to have on of those exceptions "This program/peripheral works great except on Mac II's withe serial number < 10593."
