I realise that this is probably an old and common question, but I would like a review or summary of the hard disks available for the Mac. I am a technical person and understand the in's and out's of SCSI and Winchesters (having worked with the little beasties), and would be particularly interested in reliability, ability to map out bad blocks, particularly at a later date, compatibility with the standard finder, price, how resilient they are to shocks, facilities for backup etc etc... In addition, what is the state of disk servers for the Mac? Are there any? Do they allow file sharing, simultaneous access, file locking, disk locking, how fast are they, do they require a dedicated Mac etc etc... I realise that this is asking a lot, but I figure you are the best people to ask (creep creep). Should interest be expressed, I could summarise the fruits of your labours at a later date.
