software and Hardware based ones. I would especially like something
compatable with TOPS and which could be used from a PC as well.
Please respond by E-Mail as our news is completely kaboom.

Our department serves as a central printing resource for the rest of the
University (we have five macs connected to a laserwriter plus), about 50+
people use our resource and we are running into problems with users unable
to spool their printouts.

We've had alook at the available spoolers, however, most laser spoolers require
one copy of software per user and thus are unacceptably expensive, the other
options require an investment in hardware (LaserShare requires a dedicated mac)
but we have several Lisas with 5Meg hard-disks just lying around doing nothing.

Does anyone out there know of any software that allows you to hang a Lisa
off a AppleTalk network and use it as a laserwriter spooler ? If you don't
but have experience with a spooler we'ld still like to hear from you in case
we have to go back to one of the other options.

Any help that people might be able to give would be appreciated. Could
you please e-mail your replies and I'll post a summary to the net if there
is interest. Can those replying from Australia please use the Acsnet Address
below. All others please use the UUCP address (not the path the article took).

Thanks in advance
