Replace this line with your message One final plea for help. I have a couple of old davong (serial) hard disks, and Mac512e, recently upgraded from plain 512. The disks ran fine under the old (4.2) system and finder. So I boot with the newer system (5.3 finder, etc), and try creating a new volume. Fine: its hierarchical. Everything works -- except now the volume manager crashes (error id=02) when it is run. Try the same thing on the other disk, and can't even get as far as creating the volume, the volume manager just crashes. C'mon, is there any cure, any magic incantation? Somebody out there must still be using serial-port disks. Please mail me some advice! -- ---- Henry Kautz :uucp: allegra!kautz :mail: AT&T Bell Laboratories Room 3C-433 600 Mountain Ave. Murray Hill, N.J. 07974 :office phone: (201) 582-2815 :home address: 155 Woodland Ave. Summit, N.J. 07901 :home phone: (201) 277-2737
