Greetings, After years of happily using a dumb terminal/modem combination to work on various remote multi-user machines, I recently determined that my children were old enough to deserve more than a toy computer and that my wife was finally resigned to the existence of a computer in the house to the degree that she was willing to try to learn how to use one. I had known for a long time that the Mac was going to be the machine when this time came and so I purchased a Mac Plus, external 800K drive and an Imagewriter II last week. Armed with some software garnered from friends who were already Mac owners, and the last weeks worth of net binaries ( I have Binhex 4.0 ), I and my family have been having a ball. I have two queries at this point. 1.) Does anyone know of any public-domain/shareware educational software for the 5th to 8th grade levels in either reading comprehension or pre-algebra? 2.) I have access at work to a whole lot of SCSI devices ( I do hardware design/ development for a living ) and am curious as to the means/difficulty of bringing up a SCSI hard disk on the Mac +. What drivers are needed and what about cabling/power supply requirements? Please E-mail your responses and thank you in advance. -John D. Reynolds ...!ncrcae!sauron!reynolds
