In respone to article 1679, by Jason Haines of Club Mac: In his posting, Jason Haines of Club Mac, complained that he was charged by APDA for the free book that went with the APDA membership. It turns out that the invoice included with the book was not for billing purposes, but rather was included for customs purposes. It seems that customs needs to know the value of items shipped into Australia. Therefore, the invoice was a declaration of value. I agree that it would have been better if APDA had stamped something like "Do Not Pay The Amount - For Custom Purposes!" I hope this is of help.
