Does anyone have a reasonable description on how to use the Appletalk Data Stream Protocol? The DSP is mentioned in an older Appletalk book as a protocol that provides a continuous full-duplex error-checked data stream over Appletalk. I am trying to put together a simple virtuial serial port that will allow one Mac to talk over Appletalk to a computer or modem attached to another Mac's serial port. I'm also looking into putting together a simple "chat" type utility for Appletalk. Yes...I know I could write my own socket/protocol drivers but then I would have to handle a lot of the error recovery/timeouts on my own...if DSP is available I can avoid all that re-inventing the wheel.
