Can anybody tell me why Appleshare requires a MacPlus to operate? Why not a 512E with a SCSI port? Just curious..................................................bc

I've seen it running with a 512 (not even 'E') running as the central server. Apple people _recommend_ this configuration (at least for now) because as long as you're tying up a Mac it may as well be the cheapest one. Of course the disk on this net was an Apple HD20. If you want to use a SCSI disk I think you have to have a + (the 512's don't have SCSI ports (?)). -- Tommy Phillips {hao, nbires}!isis!ssds!tommy
