As far as I can tell, Juggler is a application that's most accurately described as a multi-tasking Servant. For those of you who haven't used Servant, what happens is that when you launch an application, the whole desktop doesn't get nuked; instead, the Finder remains in the background, and you can get back to it by clicking on a window belonging to the finder, or by pulling down "Finder" from the apple menu. Also, you application is still available (click on your aplication's window or choose the application's name from the Apple menu). You can open multiple applications -- as many as you have memory for. There's a new Finder that supports the Juggler (version 6.0a4 is what I have), where the Get Info boxes let you set the Minimum and Preferred memory sizes (a la Switcher) and the "About the Finder" box displays memory usage statistics for all open applications. The new Finder has some other nice touches, but Juggler support seems to be the bulk of the changes since 5.4. I haven't run into any serious bugs in either the Finder or Juggler, save that neither Lightspeed C nor Lightspeed Pascal works under Juggler, since LSP I know does a fair amount of trap-patching, and I'd guess that LSC does the same. I understand that people who have Juggler legitimately had to sign NDA's (non-disclosure agreements); exactly what the contents of those NDA's were, I don't know. I see nothing wrong with discussing the functionality of the program, but I don't wish to make my copy publicly available. I trust that if I've said anything inaccurate or improper, the appropriate people in net.land will jump on me... :-) --Rich
