Some time back, I had TheMax2 (512->2M) memory upgrade from MacMemory installed on my upgraded 512. I love all of the memory and most of the time it works fine, but there are a few things that seem to give me trouble. Among these, I can't run Switcher (not even the version included on the disk that came with the upgrade) or the newest Chooser. In both cases, it opens the window (or dialog box), but when trying to draw the appropriate text, boxes, buttons, etc. it seems to get lost and the watch cursor stays up until I reboot. It still tracks mouse movements, but no clicks or keyboard events are recognized. I suspect that the problem may have something to do with the "wire they broke off while installing." Unfortunately, it passed all of their diagnostics (brief as they were), which finally brings me to the point of this note. Does anyone out there have an application that does extensive memory diagnostics, I have a very old one (I think I got it off of CompuServe 2 years ago or more), but it can't handle more than 512K? I'd be willing to give the Mac up for a weekend if I could find out for sure where the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Jim Clausing "Is it time for a colorful metaphor?"
