References: Keywords: Is it possible to change the blessed folder on a disk? I'm dreaming of getting a HD, and would like to be able to start up different configurations-- a System with Trap Timer and MacsBug for program development, one with JClock and FKey Manager stuff for everyday use, and a vanilla System for Smalltalk where I can't afford throwing away memory to MacsBug and I don't want VBlank processes writing on my screen. I know that I can just boot off a floppy with an alternate system and double-click to a HD application, or do lots of extraneous copying to change the file with which the boot blocks are associated, but is there a way to (1) change the blessed folder without extraneous copying, or (2) restart the system from scratch from a given System file? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oliver Steele ...!{decfax,ihnp4}!mcnc!unc!steele steele%unc@csnet-relay.csnet "Education and religion are two things not regulated by supply and demand.
