Hello, I have been "playing" with the Mac for sometime now. I just LOVE it. Even though it is not as powerful as a SUN of a MicroVax, it is great-- yet simple--in graphical document preparation. I never thought I'll use it for anything else, though. Who would have guessed that the time will come when I'll have to program the Mac. I have got a LightSpeed C compiler and some reference books, I think I'm all set for a grueling summer :(. Nevertheless, maybe it is because I have been spoiled by all the niceties available to me, I found one aspect lacking in the Mac programming environment: the keyboard. It certainly is not the smoothest keyboard in comparison to all the other systems' I have come to know of, including the PC's. The keys are coarse. The cursor keys are not laid out the way I expected them to be. The control (command?) key is out of place, the Caps Lock key is where it should *not* be; and who would ever need two return/enter keys? One being so close to the other. Only the meta (option? alt?) key is logically placed. Not to mention all the time I have spent searching for the ESC key when dialing up to the UNIX system. Anyway, the other day when reading I think, MacWorld, I ran across an ad for a $120 PC-like keyboard for the Mac. It sounds pretty interesting. My questions are: Has anybody used PCMacKey before? Is it smooth and "logically" laid out? More IMPORTANT, is it 100% Mac "compatible"? If you have any info regarding this topic, please e-mail it to me. Thank's before hand.
