I'm not really ready to distribute a new version of UW, but since v3.4 won't run under System 4.1 (or on an SE or Mac II) I've reluctantly decided to make an interim version available. I have not had the opportunity to test it as fully as I would prefer to. I have used it quite a bit myself and it has been stable for me; however, the same was true of v3.4 just before I posted it (and subsequently had to post v3.4a only a few days later to fix a bug that had gone undetected during its beta-test interval). The new version 4.1 of UW was compiled with Lightspeed C (I guess I'll have to worry about THINK's use of BSET instructions, etc. now -- sigh). The interim version only includes the executable (HQX) file and some release notes. The documentation and server from the v3.4 distribution are still (more or less) current. I've sent v4.1 to the INFO-MAC and "comp.binaries.mac" moderators.
