I just installed System 4.1/Finder 5.5 on my Mac+ and, as with
any new system, added my group of INITs slowly to see what
would happen.
All seemed to go well until I added AutoCursor (a WONDERFUL!!
INIT that automatically, regardless of programmer efforts, turns
the cursor into the Watch whenever the system is unavailable for
user input for more than 1/2 second). With AutoCursor installed,
the system crashed about the time that the Finder put up its menu
bar. Removing AutoCursor's INIT from the system file restored
normal operation.
Given this scenario, I wonder if it is somehow in conflict with
the Finder's new "moving watch" (which I can happily do without).
Is the author of AutoCursor still around? If so, a resolution
would be GREATLY appreciated!
Sincerely,
Jeff Harrow
