In using the new Chooser DA, I'm finding something a bit different than I used to see: It USED to be that if a particular print driver was chosen, the NEXT time that I brought up Chooser the currently choosen driver would be highlighted. NOW, however, regardless of what driver had been previously choosen, NO icon in Chooser comes up highlighted. Is this normal for the rest of you, or is there "something funny going on..."? Thanks, Jeff Harrow (617)264-5128

The new chooser doesn't highlight the current printer driver because the chooser is also used to choose fileservers in appleshare. Thus highlighting a particular icon isn't nessisarily appropriate when one of the icons is also the appleshare icon. Pierce Wetter Sixtus V, Pope from 1585 to 1590 authorized a printing of the Vulgate Bible. Taking no chances, the pope issued a papal bull automatically excommunicating any printer who might make an alteration in the text. This he ordered printed at the beginning of the Bible. He personally examined every sheet as it came off the press. Yet the published Vulgate Bible contained so many errors that corrected scraps had to be printed and pasted over them in every copy. The result provoked wry comments on the rather patchy papal infallibility, and Pope Sixtus had no recourse but to order the return and destruction of every copy. -------------------------------------------- wetter@tybalt.caltech.edu --------------------------------------------
