Can someone tell me what is the easiest way to go about writing a text editor for the Mac that supports multiple fonts and font attributes. Apparently the ROM textedit routines don't do this and I need to. Any suggestions or, better yet, code would be helpful. -- Damon Scaggs ihnp4!upba!damon

The best way to go about this now is to use the 'fancy' TextEdit routines documented in Inside Macintosh, Volume V (available from APDA). They provide text font and style changes, and are available in ROM on the Mac II and Mac SE, in RAM under System 4.1 for anyone with a Mac 512Ke or Mac Plus. -- Joel West {ucbvax,ihnp4}!sdcsvax!jww (ihnp4!gould9!joel if I ever fix news) jww@sdcsvax.ucsd.edu if you must
