For the people who are using System 4.1/Finder 5.5, and the LaserWriter and LaserPrep drivers that come with it, and aren't using the excellent maclaser utility that was shipped out with paintps on the comp.sources group, you'll be pleased to know this: When saving the PostScript & LaserPrep output of a document with the new LaserPrep/LaserWriter driver, using the Command-K option, you can upload the PostScript file directly to your Unix machine, and send it to the LaserWriter via lpr with NOTHING but a "%!" preceding it! No more dumping in various lines so that that everything isn't printed in Courier... Laser Fonts are preserved with the new LaserPrep. However, the LaserPrep included in your document (remember, we used Command-K, not Command-F) probably sits in the LaserWriter's memory until shut off. A much more elegant and pleasing method is to use the laserprep and maclaser script from the "paintps" posting to send stuff to the LaserWriter. Still, it does the job... "Calling J-Man Kink. Calling J-Man Kink. Hash missle sighted, target Los Angeles. Disregard personal feelings about city and intercept."
