I recently posted a request for information about CMS drives for the Mac. Several people were kind enough to respond by mail and to the net. Here is the information about CMS sent by mail: >I can answer one question. CMS is *not* the company which made the >IBM AT Winchester data destruction devices. That was CMI, and they >are out of the disk drive business. and also >CMS is owned by Charles MacConathy (sp?) and is an established manufacturer of >hard disk drives for Apple /// (originally), Apple // (second), et al. Their >Mac drives are of excellent quality and the support is excellent. I have no >affiliation with CMS other than as someone who has used their products and been >very pleased. Since my original request there have been favorable reviews of the CMS 140 meg drive in the latest MacUser and MacWorld as well. Thus, all the response was favorable and I am inclined to give the 20 meg drive a try. My only negative impression in the store is that the fan in the drive seemed as loud as the one in the XT in my office; but a 6-foot cable is furnished.
