About the Finder MOVE command: Sometimes when copying a folder to another disk I get a message to the effect of "Some files could not be copied and were skipped". If many files were moved, I find it a pain to figure out which files were skipped. Using move, the files that were successfully copied to the new disk would be deleted (ie put in the trash can) and any that were not copied would be left as they were on the original disk. Determining which files were skipped becomes easy. You mentioned that the de-selecting of the copied files was annoying. The most common case of this is trying to do a MOVE. I copy a bunch of files over (shift-click to select many). After the copy, I have to remember exactly which files I copied: not easy --> not mac-like. The MOVE command would remove this problem. While we're on the subject of selections. You know that trick where you select both an application and a document and then do an open (generally used when the document doesn't belong to that application)? If the application and document are in different windows this can not be done. (Selecting the second file sends the first window behind which de-selects everything in that window). Surely something could be done about this. (yea, I know, stop calling you Shirley). -- Andy Jewell
