[comp.sys.mac] Chooser Mode Of Operation.

Yeah, that's the way the new Chooser works. For some reason, whoever
wrote the CHooser decided not to preserve any kind of default.

Apple net.posters out there? Any answers? :-)

Hi y'all. It's me again.

I believe the rationale behind the Chooser no longer showing the printer
chosen is that the Chooser is used for a variaty of operations now.

Like choosing a Mail Server (via Intermail), or a File Server (a la
Appleshare). As well as choosing a printer (Imagewriter, Laserwriter,
Preview (the little neat shareware driver which is GREAT!!!!!), and others)

So, I guess the powers that be in human interface decided that this would
be more intuitive..... Not great for the power user, but intuitive.

Oh well.... back to the salt mines .... and lovin' every second of it!!!

The Chooser now addresses other resources than just printing resources. For
example, AppleShare addressing is now a part of the Chooser. For this reason
the name was changed (way back in the Mesozoic) from Choose Printer to Chooser.
This is probably the reason for the change.

Whether this is sufficient reason to not indicate the default print resource
is a question I leave to others.

I haven't seen this one, has it been posted (to comp.binaries.mac, etc.)? Can
you provide pointers to it, or submit it for posting?
Thanks in advance...
