I have an old MacBottom 10 Meg hard disk. As I am about to upgrade my 512K Mac to the new ROMS, I called PCPC to ask whether it was compatible. They said no, but offered to sell me a "mini-upgrade" for $50 + $2 for shipping. It just arrived, and consists of a ROM chip, two floppies, and a manual for the MacBottom 20 (non-SCSI) hard disk. This sounds great to me - an extra 10 Meg for $50 (they didn't tell me about that!). Unfortunately, they did not include any instructions about (a) where to put the ROM (or how to do it), (b) whether files backed up using the MacBottom 10 backup utility can be restored using the utilities for the MacBottom 20, which have different names, and (c) whether the resulting disk will be compatible with my 512K BEFORE I upgrade it to a 512E. It's now Friday night and rather than wait paitiently until I can call them Monday, I'm hoping someone on the net can illuminate these matters for me. David S.
