[comp.sys.mac] Mac SE fan too loud!

Music is too distracting, for me. So far, the only thing I've found that makes
the SE fan endurable for long periods is to be in the next room. (Of course,
there are some obvious disadvantages.) It's really a shame, because I've been
quite happy with the SE except for the noise.

A friend of mine has a Symbolics Lisp machine in his office, and it's even
noisier than the Mac SE. I plan to use the same technique he uses -- go to a
gun shop and get some hearing protectors. They're the things that look like
earmuffs that you see on people who work at airport runways.

If anyone finds a quiet replacement for the fan, please (!) tell me.
