[comp.sys.mac] Hierarchical Menus+Parameter Ram=Bug

oster@dewey.soe.berkeley.edu (David Phillip Oster) (07/09/87)

A fe weeks ago I released a public domain puzzle called "Menu Maze".
In Menu Maze you have to find your way out of a maze of hierarchical
menus. Menu Maze should work for anyone running System 4.1 or greater,
and if you are running an earlier system, it should politely tell you
that and exit.

Well, some people have been having trouble with Menu Maze. The first
menu appears, complete with the little arrow heads that mean that
there are sub-menus off to the right, but when they select a menu item,
nothing happens. For some people, if they click and hold on the menu
item long enough, the sub-menu will appear.

Apple, is the time-out threshold for the appearance of sub-menus
influenced by any of the data in the parameter ram? Can the user screw
up hierarchical menus by, say, turning off menu blink? Do you know
about thisd problem? Will it be fixed in the next release?

If anybody else has any more information about problems with
hierachical menus, please let me know (by E-mail).
