I have had a tremendous response to my personal finance templates for Excel.
I've just posted it to the net (comp.binaries.mac) in packed and binhex
form. A large number of people have asked for copies to be mailed to them
on disk. Because of the large volume I need to set a policy for us-mailings.
If you would like a copy on disk, then mail me a disk, the $10 shareware
fee, and a stamped self addressed envelope and I'll get it back to you with the
latest version on it. Since I'll have to take time to copy it and I'm getting
a lot of requests, I would appreciate it if you'd enclose a $1 handling fee.
I have written up a six page manual for it that is in text only format and
should be very helpful (as well as absolutely necessary.)
One question that has come up and wasn't covered in the manual is how to roll
things over to the next period (year usually). I'll include that in the next
version of the manual but for reference:
1. Copy the values from This_Period dates into the Last_Period dates.
2. Copy the values from Accounts ending balance to beginning balance.
3. Copy the values of dollars from This_Period.
(Basic Expenses, Expenses, Incomes)
4. Clear out the ledger leaving one line of error checking formulas at the top
5. Modify the budgeted values as your budget changes.
6. Save.As... with a new name (ex. Expenses 86 becomes Expenses 87 )
